Pastor Mark Brown was born and raised into a Christian family. At a young age, having heard the good news of Christ’s death for his sin from his earliest days, God brought Mark to a realization that spiritual salvation must be personal. He personally had to put faith in Jesus Christ God’s Son as his own personal Savior. His mother was the one who one night explained the Gospel message once again and, God working on his heart, he responded in simple faith and was born again.
From that point on, God allowed that new spiritual life to begin to grow and develop. Through those years of growing up in a Christian minister’s home, God began to work on his heart and call to service in the ministry. Pastor Mark realized that God was leading him into full-time service. Through high school and into college and on into further training and seminary, God directed in academic and ministry choices to develop Pastor Mark to serve as pastor.
Having served as a youth pastor, an interim pastor, and two ministries as assistant/associate in Minnesota and Pennsylvania, God opened the door for pastoral ministry here at Maple Avenue Baptist in the spring of 2003. Pastor Brown’s great joys are to see new friends come to know Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior and to grow in Christ along with his flock. He loves to get to know visitors and to talk about God’s Word, the Bible, and God’s Son, Jesus Christ the Savior.
